I am blessed with a baby boy on May 26th.

Wild Winter Trip

Jan 22nd 2009, it was the most awaited day of West NSC team for the team outing to Vizag-Araku.  We have started our journey from nampally station, to see the beauty of Araku Valley and fabulous vizag beaches.  Godavari train reached vizag at 6:00 a.m. (Friday)

 Day 1: 23rd (Friday)

We started our journey to tyda by Kirandal express. Arrived at tyda @ 9:00 a.m, from there we went to Jungle Bells (A.P tourism resort).

I may not call this as funny, it is just testing our patience… order any breakfast/tea/coffee…You will receive it after half an hour, not only at jungle bells this is happened through out the trip… After having the famous Andhra’s  Poori masala breakfast, started our site seeing journey to borracaves. It is around 15 K.M. from tyda resort. Most of the people are enjoyed this Ghat road ride with out any difficulties…

On the way we have seen so many suicide point (of course those are at a very much height of  10 mts from the ground level). We reached to borracaves @ 1:10 p.m.   just a 10 min delay caused us 1 hr waiting…(1-2 is a lunch time)… We know how to use this valuable time of 1 hr… shopping, photo session, smoking, fighting with the security (requesting him to allow inside)…

200 years history of Borracaves is a must watch place for any Indian…the caves were an amazing, naturally build and very cool atmosphere inside. After this we had a delicious lunch in a hut… Very cheep and very taste home made food.  The youth batch are very much interested to go to Katika waterfalls which is 7 K.M. away from Borracaves. Trekking to that waterfall is a very risky job for all us…any how we managed to go the top of the hills to enjoy the awesome waterfalls, I think the water had a temperature of -5 degrees Centigrade.

 Camp fire…Team activities…Dinner…many more…

 Day 2: 24th (Satday)

This is the day with full of bus journey to Hills… Valleys… Hair pin bends…flat roads…

Araku Valley is 30 K.M. from tyda resort. It is know to be the Andhra Ooty…but we didn’t enjoyed that much as told by known resources…. May be we went there at the wrong time…. Or..???  Any how we got the chance to meet the holidays movie team (including heroine). One place we have seen in Araku is Chapa Raayi….

West NSC GANG shown their full enthu…in the bus….playing Tam bola, Dump char arts, singing, dancing…  We reached Vizag @ 3:00 p.m. had the lunch and went to our beloved colleague Varma’s house (local guy….who don’t know any thing about vizag…)

Stay @ Hotel Supreem, opp to beach …. team spent the pleasant evening in the R.K. beach….

Day 3: 25th (Sunday)

Sunday is a holiday…spent the whole day in the happy days beach (yarada beach) which is 30 K.M from the hotel. In yadara beach… we rocked like anything…. Beach volleyball, disk through, kabaddi, Cricket….wow….a remarkable happiest moment in our trip….

Afternoon we had lunch @ daspalla hotel… girls team are ready to travel back to Hyderabad…In the evening the youth batch visited kailasgiri temple.

Night walk… beach view … chit chat…

Day 4: 26th (Monday)

Early morning walk in the fog…  The team went for a boat ride in the Bay of Bengal @ 11:00 a.m….. there after we had lunch at the same favorite daspalla hotel…

Action…Cut…Pack Up… to vizag railway station…. The train departure time is @ 4:35 p.m.

Last chance… to win the money (which we lost in tambola.. 3 cards..etc.) in the train…

Good night….Sweet Dreams…

Early morning our manager distributed the prizes to all the winners and losers of all the games played in the team outing… (Thank god this time at least I got a gift!!!)

Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony

Beijing Olympics opening ceremony

Jaws dropped and eyeballs popped out of the socket as Beijing defied umpteen doomsday predictions and shimmered in a breathtaking display of fireworks, colour and cultural soiree at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games at the Bird’s Nest stadium here tonight.

A veritable architectural wonder of interwoven steel, the national stadium on the outskirt of the Chinese capital witnessed an ethereal ceremony studded with a heady concoction of tradition and technology and a dazzling display of a combination of man and machine.

The three-and-a-half-hour show, witnessed by a capacity crowd of 91,000 people here and over one billion viewers on watching it on television, kicked off right at 2000 hrs local time  the choice of date 08-08-2008 at 8 pm stems from the Chinese belief that number eight is auspicious for them.

China has invested $43 billion on the Games, including $100 million on the opening and closing ceremonies, twice the money expended at the 2004 Athens Games, promising to host the best ever Olympic Games over the next fortnight.

Talks of human rights violation, pollution or the veil of haze hanging over the city seemed mere bagatelle compared to the blockbuster that Beijing produced tonight.

The Indian contingent, led by flag bearer Athens silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, looked every bit proud. Men were dressed in off-white sherwanis while women mixed and matched, some draped in the traditional sarees and some others in western outfits.

A Disaster gone LIVE

It was an unforgettable Journey of my Life…  Just want to share with you…

I am on the way to Kakinada in Gauthami Exp; We were in a deep sleep… at around 1:00 a.m. the train stopped near Mahaboobad station. ….some body shouting from outside saying that the train caught fire..pls get down…. By that time half of my coach S1 is empty, we (me and two of my friends) get down from the train and saw the disastrous moment… the two bogies caught fired (S10 , S9)… we ran towards S10 to see what is happening… any thing that we can do on that spot, But we are in a completely helpless situation. It was a huge fire accident and nothing we can do at that time …beyond calling 108,100 or to the family members and relatives saying that we are safe… (No network on that spot…)  . Recorded the live video

Some of the real time incidents…. A 40 year old man is running around and shouting that…he lost his wife,2 children’s in S10 (even though he tried and failed to pull them out)… two police man were unable to enter in to S9,S10 bogies because of heavy black smoke… some one pulled a lady from S9 bogies ( she was died )….

I am lucky enough to get away from the fire accident… We got the RAC ticket, in the last minute conformation in S1 bogies (other wise…?)…. Thank god

Bill Gates is leaving Microsoft Corporation, the company he founded in 1975, to focus on philanthropical activities like new vaccine projects and microfinance funding in developing world. According to Reuters, Gates is set to step down the software giant on Friday, and he will work full-time at his charitable organisation — the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The 52-year-old is Microsoft’s biggest shareholder with his 8.7 percent stake worth about $23 billion. Gates had left the operational role in MS a few years ago in favour of the current CEO Steve Ballmer. He was designated as the chief software architect of the company.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has been active in India committing millions of dollars for HIV prevention. Since the country is undergoing a microfinance boom, Gates is likely to look at this sector closely.
According to a report in P-I, Gates is investing in a new nuclear energy project alongside Nathan Myhrvold’s Intellectual Ventures. Apparently, he’s fascinated by the cross section of biology and computing. Gates also said in the P-I interview that he would be very selective in any type of investment he makes.
“Unless it’s something dramatic, using new science, breakthrough software approaches, breakthrough medical approaches, it somehow doesn’t grab me, because I’m much more of an engineer and scientist. If somebody says to me, ‘OK, we can do new cookie stores, and we can make zillions,’ I have no interest in spending a minute on that. I hope somebody goes and does that, but that’s not me.”

Indiabulls Success Story

It is the Success story of a 32 year old Gagan Banga…  founder and CEO of Indiabulls Financial Services

in his words  …… “He thanks his stars for making the right career choice and joining a company which, in 2000, had nothing but the dreams of its three promoters, all of whom were from IIT Delhi and in their early twenties. “I liked their entrepreneurial spirit and it helped that all of us were in the same age group. I believed we can achieve what looked impossible at that point in time,” he says.

Indiabulls, which started life as an online brokerage, has been expanding at a furious pace to become one of the largest non-banking financial companies in the country – all in just eight years. As a group, it has moved into areas ranging from infrastructure and power to financial services, real estate and retail. Insurance and commodity trading are the other two areas it wants to get into soon.

The steel baron Lakshmi Mittal’s bought into the Indiabulls story and invested $1 million at Rs 5 a share in February 2000. It was Mittal’s first investment in India and that bet has yielded returns of a phenomenal 100 times.  “Mittal took a call when most others didn’t know what India is all about. It was more of a vision call, rather than a micro call on the country,”

Microsoft released a test version of its latest web browser, Internet Explorer 8, on march 5, 2008.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Web browser is the world’s most widely-used Web browser with a greater market share than Apple Inc’s Safari or Mozilla’s Firefox. The browser is also part of the ongoing battle between Microsoft and arch-rival Google Inc.

Firefox is closely affiliated with Google, which provided around 85 percent of the revenue of Firefox’s parent organization, the Mozilla Foundation, which was $66.8 million in 2006, according to filings published last October.

The Redmond, Washington software giant says the latest version of Explorer offers increased interoperability, offers developers better predictability when designing sites, and full support for cascading style sheet (CSS) 2.1, which is a standard for web document presentation.

IE8 also includes tools which let developers reduce the number of errors found in the web pages. New features include Activities and Webslices, which provide ways to interact with web content to save users time. The new features provide similar functionality to toolbars, but in a more light weight, easily manageable form.

Webslices allow users to subscribe to a specific portion of the web page and get updates directly from the browser, said Jane Kim, program manager for Activities and WebSlices in an interview on Mix Online.

Activities is a way to access services from anywhere on the web. For example, highlighting text of an address and right clicking provides a pop up window which allows you to connect to a map search web page.
